Being part of our community means supporting women who daily strive to project their voices and gain relevance in their various careers in Automotive. Our mission is simple – Creating and continuously improving this platform which is designated for automotive and diversity discussions. We implore you to lend your voice in support of this underrated gender.

As the new year is right before us, and all activities are in place, you can get involved from the start. There are several ways to get involved in our activities. From becoming an active advocate in the Women Automotive Network community, to passively celebrating the women who have led the strides and left an impression on the sands of time. You can become an active member of our community by reflecting this on your social presence

ON LINKEDIN

Add women automotive network as an organisation to your LinkedIn profile

Listing professional membership organisations on your profile proves you are an integral force within your community and an involved member within your industry.

STEPS

To add professional membership organizations to the Organizations section of your LinkedIn profile, follow these steps:

1. Open your LinkedIn profile.
2. If you have the Organizations section already added to your profile, simply scroll to it and click the pencil (edit) icon to enter into edit mode, then go to Step 5.
3. If you don't have the Organizations section added to your profile yet, add it by scrolling below the Contact Information section at the top part of your profile. Two sections appear that you can add. If Organizations isn't one of the options listed, click View More to expand the area to see a full list of sections to add.
4. In the Organizations section, click Add Organizations. When clicked, the Organizations section appears on your profile.
5. In the Organization field, type Women Automotive Network
6. In the Position(s) Held field, type ‘Community Member’ 
7. In the Time Period fields, choose ‘Membership ongoing’
8. In the Description field, enter a ‘community of professionals from across all disciplines of the industry; offering a platform for diversity and technology discussions.’
9. Click on ‘Save’.

STEP 4

Update licences & certificates on your profile to include women's automotive network

If you have been part of our mentorship program, then you likely received a certificate after months of rigorous and insightful engagement. With LinkedIn's huge reach, you'll demonstrate your continued professional development to your network and other LinkedIn users. Moreover, you’ll be showing support to the Network by simply adding your certificate to your LinkedIn profile.

STEPS

1. Log into LinkedIn and click on your profile photo in the top right corner. When the dropdown loads, select the blue "View profile" link.
2. Once your profile page loads, select "Add profile section" and a dropdown list will display.
3. Select, "Licenses & Certifications ⊕" and a modal window pop-up will load.
4. In the "Name" field, enter the name of the course you attended.
5. Add Women Automotive Network into the "Issuing Organisation" field. As you type, LinkedIn will auto-populate this field. Select Women Automotive Network from the list.
6. Select the checkbox "This credential does not expire". Then, from the dropdown lists, add the month and year of the course date.
7. Finally, hit the "Save" button to complete the process.

Additionally, under profile, under website, input ‘www.womenautomotivenetwork.com’

STEP 5

Update ‘volunteer’ on your profile to include Women Automotive Network.

Update your volunteer experience to include any activities you’ve been part of in the Women Automotive Network.

STEP 6

Update your social profile to reflect your community -Women Automotive Network.

If you don’t have LinkedIn, don’t worry, you can as well show support via other channels.

Add your involvement to your bio or profile.

STEPS

1. Click on Edit profile
2. On your bio description, Type ‘Member @womenautomotivenetwork’
3. Under the website, input ‘www.womenautomotivenetwork.com’
4. Click on save
